When defining what’s important to our online petshop, we said that one of the core things is we’re extremely proud of our heritage and the Swiss roots. That’s why, knowing the pitfalls of supply chain full well, we’ve looked towards local suppliers for our shipping needs and materials. On our search we’ve met and interacted with wonderful people, who right away became very supportive of what LekaPets is aiming to do and told us “I will buy from you, when you launch!”. Founded in 1924, it’s run and owned by the 4^th generation of Gauch family. Their products include cardboard boxes, folding boxes, as well as packaging. LxBxH specialises in the development, production and distribution of solid and corrugated cardboard packaging for various industries, from two sites: one in Kirchberg BE and Regensdorf ZH. Who doesn’t know the yellow buses and the yellow mailboxes doesn’t live in this country! This iconic company has been around for 175 years. It is recognizable, innovative and reliable. It’s also got a top-notch IT technology behind it, which resonated deeply with us as founders. Swiss Post is the best postal service in the world. Crowned for the sixth consecutive time by the UN’s Universal Postal Union. They are the innovator of future technologies in logistics, digital services and mobility. Our choice, from the first touchpoint with the customer representative, to their genuine and consistent interest in how the business is doing, what they can help with, etc., made this decision an easy one as well, in all senses.

When the idea of Lekapets was born last year, we quickly realised that the basis for innovation will be a bespoke tech solution, which will help match pets with the food that’s available and also a platform which puts the user in the center. Hyper-personalised approach, which is adaptable, was key to us. Therefore we turned to a supplier of choice – Singularity Software, a Swiss company, that strives to deliver tailor-made, high-quality software. Working with Singularity Software was straightforward and uncomplicated. We wanted to agile, being able to adapt the solution to future needs as well, using cloud solutions which allow you to grow exponentially.  Lastly, we wanted to create a different user experience, using AI for hyper-personalisation. Singularity team carefully analyzed all the requirements and offered solutions, which were extremely fitting to our end scope.

As pet parents we want to make the best choices for our furry kids. This month we’d like to tell you a bit more about one of our brands – Almo Nature.

Pier Giovanni Capellino, the founder of Almo Nature, and his brother Lorenzo have donated 100% of the company to the Foundation bearing their name – Fondazione Capellino. In the pet food industry sector, this is the only known case in the world, where the company’s revenues (after costs and tax) are directly donated to biodiversity conservation.

Almo Nature has a wide range of products for both cats and dogs. Kibble, which contains balanced ingredients as well as wet food, which provides natural hydration. Daily recipes are prepared with whole ingredients: complete foods, which cater for a large number of adult cats and dogs, thanks to the variety of their ingredients (meat, fish and offal). Daily recipes guarantee a healthy, quality diet, at affordable prices. The entire range is free of artificial preservatives and colors.

The company highlights the role of kibble and wet food in a daily diet of your furry friends, giving essential recommendations. Kibble is a complete food.
